He earned his MBBS degree in 2009 and completed his MD in Physiology in 2012 from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal, Manipur. In 2013, he enrolled in a Post MD PhD program supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research at King George’s Medical University in Lucknow. Under the guidance of Professor Sunita Tiwari, he completed his PhD in 2019.
