Omkar Prasad Baidya was born on 3 December 1984 in Agartala, Tripura, India. He completed his schooling at Shishu Bihar Higher Secondary School in Agartala, where he developed an early interest in science and human values.

He earned his MBBS degree in 2009 and completed his MD in Physiology in 2012 from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal, Manipur. In 2013, he enrolled in a Post MD PhD program supported by the Indian Council of Medical Research at King George’s Medical University in Lucknow. Under the guidance of Professor Sunita Tiwari, he completed his PhD in 2019.
